Bridge Adventure

In collaboration with faculty from across the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, the LEAF Lab is part of implementing a new program designed to enhance diversity and inclusion through field-based experiential learning. Funded through a USDA Hispanic Serving Institution Grant, the Bridge Adventure program began its inaugural year in Fall 2021. Each year, the program will admit 8-12 students from across TTU's campus who will be participants for a period of two years. Regular meetings and activities help foster a close-knit community of diverse students as they prepare for program excursions. Participants go on three trips per year with expenses covered through program funding. These trips include one service learning trip, one mentored research campaign, and one team-building adventure. We are partnering with Raider Service Breaks, CASNR faculty, and the Outdoor Pursuits Center to make these excursions as beneficial to student learning as possible, with the ultimate goal of creating a strong sense of unity in diversity.
